Celebrating Women: The Return of MUSE
As March approaches, so does a delightful occasion that every food lover and supporter of women in the arts should mark on their calendars! The iconic event, MUSE: A Soirée Celebrating Women in Food, Drink and the Arts, is set to return on Sunday, March 8, at The Guild and Paradise Garden Club in Kansas City. From 4 PM to 7 PM, guests will have the opportunity to savor exquisite culinary creations crafted by some of the region's most talented women chefs while simultaneously celebrating the integral roles women play in our community.
Supporting Local Initiatives
As part of International Women’s Month, this event will not only boast amazing food and drink pairings but also support Girls on the Run Kansas City, a nonprofit organization empowering young girls through fitness and mentorship. Each ticket purchased helps provide important resources for girls in grades 3–8, linking the celebration of culinary arts with meaningful community impact.
Highlighting the Stars of the Kitchen
What makes MUSE truly special is its commitment to showcasing leading female chefs and beverage connoisseurs. The event features notable chef and beverage duos who will create uniquely paired tasting experiences for guests. These partnerships promise a delicious variety of savory and dessert options. For example, guests can look forward to pairings such as Swetha Newcomb of Of Course with Madeline Buechter of Barbacoa, and Megan Garrelts of Rye with Nancy Smith of Farina. With a lineup like this, the event is set to be a feast for the senses.
Creating a Community of Support
Beyond the delightful tastings, MUSE fosters a vibrant community atmosphere with local women-owned businesses presenting pop-up shops. This integration encourages guests to shop locally while supporting female entrepreneurs in Kansas City. These vendors will offer a diverse range of products, from jewelry to specialty food items, all promoting the power of women in business.
Enjoying the Experience
For those interested in attending, general admission tickets are available for $100, which includes access to food and drink pairings, a welcome cocktail, and a special MUSE canvas bag. For a more premium experience, VIP tickets at $160 include additional perks like entry into the Grand Staycation raffle. As it’s an adult-only event, cocktail attire is encouraged, paving the way for a stylish and vibrant evening.
The Importance of Women in Culinary Arts
MUSE not only cherishes the contributions of women in the culinary scene but also stands as a reminder of the essential roles women play across all domains. This event sparks conversations about gender equality in the culinary world and the importance of recognizing and supporting women's achievements. Dining at MUSE goes beyond just enjoying a meal; it’s an opportunity to appreciate and elevate the narratives of women who shape Kansas City's vibrant food and drink landscape.
